When the Genetics Matter, the Work Has to Be Right.

I’m Zac Longanecker. I’ve been doing full-time embryo transfer and AI work for over a decade, working primarily with registered Angus producers but also Red Angus and Brahman operations across Florida and the Southeast.

Before I went full-time with ET contracting, I spent a decade in the seedstock Angus business — EPD selection, herd management, tagging and registering animals, working with sales managers for online auctions. I know what producers are actually trying to accomplish when they call me, because I’ve been on their side of the fence.

My degree is in chemical engineering with a biomedical emphasis from Florida State. I don’t use it to run the protocols — I use it to understand why they work, and more importantly, why they sometimes don’t.

The name Free Bird Genetics comes from a bull my father and I co-bred. When he sold, the proceeds went into starting this business. The name stuck — and so did the standard he set.
