What I Do in the Field
Every service is performed by me — not a crew, not a trainee. If you book with Free Bird Genetics, you get ten years of full-time ET and AI experience on your cows.

Embryo Transfer
Frozen Embryo Transfer — Recipient Sync to Transfer
Recipient synchronization and frozen embryo transfer. I can manage the full recipient program from CIDR insertion through breeding day or I can train you (or your staff) to handle recipient synchronization on your farm. I do not currently flush or collect donors — that is handled by your veterinarian or an IVF lab (TransOva, etc.).
I specialize in transferring high-quality frozen IVF embryos. On breeding day I handle straw thawing, evaluation, and precise non-surgical embryo transfer. I follow the lab’s documented stage and grade on each straw.
Experienced with purebred Black Angus, Red Angus, Brahman, show cattle, and crossbred herds. Synchronization protocols are customized to your herd’s condition, cycling status, and timeline. Ultrasound pregnancy confirmation available as an add-on service.

Fixed-Time AI
CIDR-Based Synchronization & Fixed-Time AI
CIDR-based synchronization protocols designed to maximize conception rates at fixed-time insemination — eliminating the need for heat detection and compressing your breeding season.
Protocol selection depends on your cow's body condition, time of year, and program goals. Co-Synch + CIDR, 5-day CIDR Synch, and 7-day CIDR protocols all have different strengths. I match the protocol to the program.
Semen handling and insemination by a technician who does this full-time, not a side job. Conception rates tracked and reported back to producers who want the data.
Protocol options
7-day CIDR, 5-day, Co-Synch
Heat detection
Not required (fixed-time)

Pregnancy Testing
Ultrasound Pregnancy Diagnosis
Rectal ultrasound pregnancy diagnosis. I detect pregnancies as early as 30 days post-AI or 23 days post-ET. Early checks are valuable during breeding season to quickly identify and rebreed open cows.
I also provide gestational staging (estimated days pregnant) to support re-breeding decisions. Results reported by animal ID.
Earliest detection
30 days post-AI / 23 days post-ET
Method
Rectal ultrasound
Data capture
By animal ID on request
Open cow
Gestation stage estimated
Combo option
Pair with fetal sexing (60+ days)
Throughput
High — minimal handling time
04
Fetal Sexing
Ultrasound Fetal Sex Determination
Fetal sex determination by rectal ultrasound. The accurate window is 60–90 days post-AI or 53–83 days post-ET.
I always recommend adding fetal sexing 30 days after an early pregnancy check ultrasound. There is often significant embryo loss between day 30 and 60, so the sexing exam serves as an excellent second pregnancy confirmation to ensure your cows aren't open all summer.
Optimal window
60–90 days post-AI / 53–83 post-ET
Method
Rectal ultrasound (genital tubercle)
Accuracy
High within optimal window

Consultation
Reproductive Program Design & Protocol Consultation
For producers starting or restructuring an AI or ET program. Covers protocol selection, recipient herd management, EPD selection considerations relative to reproductive performance, and program economics.
Not a sales call for a specific product line. The goal is an honest conversation about what will work for your specific program, scale, and market.
Available by phone or in person during a farm visit. No charge for producers already booking services — standalone consults priced on a case-by-case basis.
