North Florida cattle programs
The stretch from Ocala north through Gainesville and west into Levy and Suwannee counties is where a lot of Florida’s most serious registered Angus programs operate. Marion County in particular has a well-established cattle culture — some of the state’s oldest registered herds are here, and the producers are experienced enough to understand what they are asking for when they book ET work.
North Florida benefits from slightly more moderate summer temperatures than the peninsula, but heat stress is still a meaningful factor from June through September. The better-drained soils and improved pasture quality in the Alachua and Levy corridors support better year-round cow condition than the sandy south, which translates to more consistent recipient performance across programs.
The Madison county area sits at the intersection of Florida and Georgia territory — programs here are often run in conjunction with south Georgia operations, and I route them together when the timing aligns. If you are in the north Florida panhandle area (Jackson, Washington, Holmes counties), reach out — coverage depends on what else is on the calendar at the time.
